Article Usability

Inevitably, this article is going to grow very long -- and as it grows it becomes less user friendly. Already, navigation requires a lot of tedious reading. I fully understand the reasoning behind the current template but I don't think it supports article expansion well. Markup limitations in spite, it is possible to rewrite the article into a more general structure (I'm not talking about rewriting the content, although some cleanup may be in order) which will likely make it easier to browse -- but at the possible cost of some markup abuse. At the time of writing, nine out of 12 entries (excluding the bug section) relate to the project interface exclusively. One of the titles barely betrays the contents of the entry, they are in no order at all, and entries about different matters entirely are interspersed among them. I am purposefully not rectifying this now (though I will at a later date unless somebody beats me to it).

To make it easier for developers to track bugs there should also be guidelines for submitting those. Categorisation would make it easier to view but an iterative new-submissions-first approach is probably easier for BioWare to monitor. That really depends on what they would want from such a section, however.

Thoughts? Snoteye 11:15, 23 January 2010 (UTC)

Definitely needs refactoring, yeah. The page started out as a simple text file on my hard drive containing notes copied and pasted from the forums, so it has rough roots. :) Grouping the suggestions by subject area would be a good start, and possibly splitting the page up into a couple of more specific sub pages. I'll go through it later today and see what an editing pass can do. BryanDerksen 20:25, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
