Consent to Share

By entering this competition you consent to share your work for other community members to benefit from.
Where appropriate, source files should be shared.
The work *MUST* be entirely your own (check the contest consent to share for specific exceptions)
Others may use and modify your work in their Dragon Age mods, though are encouraged to give credit.
As the entries are judged, local copies will be saved If your work is taken down.
If your work is taken down, you allow for it to be re-uploaded, crediting the work in your name.

How do I Enter a Contest?

An entrant may make more than one entry, but may not win more than one prize and may not enter multiple groups. To enter the competition, the following steps must be made:

  1. User creates a Dragon Age Nexus project
    • The entrant uploads their work to a new project on Dragon Age Nexus.
    • Category is set and file is uploaded and made public (don't forget this step!)
    • File should be named "Community Contest NUM - ENTRY NAME". For example: "Community Contest 1 - Fishing Village.7z" and contain the files needed for use as well as source files where applicable.
    • Screenshots are strongly encouraged, so that you can also use them on the contest page. Judges will not take screenshots for you.
  2. User posts on Contest thread
    • State that you are entering the contest (as well as which group you are entering, if applicable)
    • Provide the name and link to your BSN Project
    • If you are unable to complete the next section (modify wiki page), please also state that you would like somebody to help add your entry to the page.
  3. User modifies Contest wiki page
    • This step is required so that others may browse the contest entries easily.
    • Ensure you are logged in to the Builders wiki (this site).
    • Find the page for the contest you are entering.
    • Click Edit and find the Entries section.
    • Include a short description of your entry. No more than ~300 words. Feel free to use more in the description on your DANexus page.
    • Please include screenshots, but no more than 4 per entry.
    • Provide a link to your Dragon Age Nexus page.
    • Rule out whether you would/would not like to receive public comments on the contest page. These are typically constructive suggestions left by judges.

Misc FAQs

  • Q: Where can I get help?
    • A: There are tutorials listed, or you can ask questions in the contest discussion. Links are provided on each contest page.
  • Q: May I post work-in-progress updates and get advice from other people to improve my entry?
    • A: Absolutely! This is encouraged :)
  • Q: May I enter the contest more than once?
    • A: Yes, though you may not win more than once. Only your strongest entry may "podium"
  • Q: May I enter two groups?
    • A: Unless specified otherwise, you may only enter yourself into one group from each contest. You may submit multiple entries into that group though.
  • Q: How long will it take for the entries to be judged?
    • A: Probably about a week.
  • Q: So anyone can use my work once I submit it?
    • A: Yes, though they are encouraged to give credit.
  • Q: I have work from a module I've already made. Can I enter that into the competition?
    • A: Yes, but remember - all entries become shared content. Do not post work from your mod unless you're happy for others to use it in theirs.
  • Q: Won't judges look unfavourably on "recycling" my existing work portfolio?
    • A: We don't know unless you don't tell us, so we can't discriminate in this matter. However, the winning entries are those which fulfil the brief well - if your entry is a poor match, it is unlikely to win... no matter how technically good it is.
